N.F.L. Takes Over Sexual Harassment Investigation of Washington Team

The N.F.L. has taken over an investigation into claims of sexual harassment made by greater than a dozen girls who labored for the Washington Football Team in the course of the previous 20 years.

The transfer comes after legal professionals representing some of the ladies final week criticized the investigation and the N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell for permitting the group’s proprietor, Daniel Snyder, to rent the regulation agency that’s investigating the matter and to regulate the response to its findings.

In July, Snyder employed Beth Wilkinson, a founding associate of Wilkinson Walsh, to conduct “an independent review of the team’s culture, policies and allegations of workplace misconduct” that have been raised in reporting by The Washington Post. The newspaper revealed one other story final month that included claims from one other two dozen girls about pervasive harassment whereas employed by the group, together with allegations that implicated Snyder. A former cheerleader accused the group proprietor of propositioning her and a former staffer stated lewd video recording of the outtakes of a cheerleader picture shoot was made at Snyder’s behest.

Snyder denied many parts of The Post’s reporting, together with the proposition allegation and any involvement within the recording.
