Tottenham Hotspur Women’s defender Hannah Godfrey says she was like “a kid at Christmas” as her facet returned to training forward of the brand new Women’s Super League season.




Godfrey was voted as Player of the Season by the followers in her first season at the membership, having scored on her Scotland debut in a 5-Zero win over Albania in November.

Speaking to the membership web site, Godfrey mentioned: “I used to be like a bit kid at Christmas after we returned.

Godfrey then went on to discuss being voted final season’s participant of the yr, including: “It was wonderful for me to be recognised by the followers as the Player of the Season within the membership’s debut within the WSL and my first season again in England, and at Spurs.

“I really feel that I achieved quite a bit individually and that motivates me to do higher subsequent season. I’ve discovered my ft within the squad now and I really feel at house right here. I need to maintain enjoying each week, continue to learn and hopefully I can proceed to make the membership proud and characterize Scotland.”

After Tottenham completed seventh of their debut WSL marketing campaign Godfrey hopes to construct on that heading into the brand new season.

“I think last season was successful for the team, it was historic and that’s just the start for us,” she added.

“I know that the team and I can give more and we’re not going to sit back on the achievements from last season, we’re ready to step up and push forward to achieve bigger things.”

WSL sides are set to begin their new marketing campaign on the weekend of September 5-6, having been out of motion since earlier than March’s lockdown within the United Kingdom.
