“The information signal for the Tricia McCauley Public Herb Garden has been put in at the Ledriot Park Community Garden. This completes the construct of the undertaking that was created because of group fundraisers hosted by Boundary Stone DC, DC Brau, Common Good City Farm and Moreland’s Tavern.
The TLM Public Herb Garden stone wall building was created because of a group funded initiative in March of 2019 to have a good time the lifetime of good friend and fellow group gardener, Tricia Lynn McCauley. Tricia handed away on Christmas Day in 2016. Tricia was instrumental to the DC city farming scene as an herbalist, good friend, and trainer, helped to construct the first raised beds for LPCG in 2010, and established the resident herbalist program at Common Good City Farm in 2011. This small backyard is with out the public bounds of the Ledriot Park Community Garden.
-To foster the training of herbs in our group and honor Tricia’s legacy.
-To act as a public useful resource for herbalists and residential cooks to develop and harvest herbs.
-Anyone could plant kitchen herbs with the understanding that the vegetation are a public useful resource.
-Ledriot Park Community Garden companions with the Resident Herbalist of Common Good City Farm to plant many medicinal herbs in the herb backyard. Many of those vegetation are cultivated with the intention that neighborhood herbalists and the Common Good herbs program could use these vegetation in their courses and workshops facilitated by means of Common Good.
-The group will all the time intention develop the medicinal herbs listed on the signal, nonetheless another herbs are welcome to be cultivated. All kitchen herbs are inspired to be planted plentifully and harvested.
