The Boksburg SPCA’s adoption kennels have been revamped and it’s all because of beneficiant donors who contributed in direction of the 2019/20 Christmas Cheer Fund.
A complete of 15 giant and 6 small kennel fronts on the society’s adoption space have been given a facelift after they have been in a dire state of disrepair.
Initially, the Boksburg SPCA set a goal of R60 000 for the 2019/20 Christmas Cheer Fund however they obtained greater than what they bargained for after they exceeded their goal to R71 844.
According to Vicky Finnemore, Boksburg SPCA supervisor, the cheer fund was used to refurbish their veterinary clinic’s medical kennels.
However, an nameless benefactor of the society stepped in and undertook this refurbishment without charge.
“This then enabled us to use the funds, as well as the donations received from Dhanen Pillay, Marco da Costa Dias, and Paws Before You Drive fund-raisers and Bestfence to replace the kennels,” Finnemore mentioned.
She highlighted that about six small kennel fronts nonetheless must be changed.
“We would like to thank each and every person who contributed towards our fund, thus ensuring our dogs are now housed in safe and secure kennels,” Finnemore mentioned.
